What Joining Means

Joining SMARTER means you believe in our mission and support our principles. It means you are one of thousands of motorcyclists who "ride smart" by properly dressing for the ride. It means you are one of thousands of U.S. citizens who place a high value on education and skill training related to proficient riding. It means you want your voice heard.

Please follow the "How to Join" steps listed below. As soon as we receive your application, we will make you an active member in a unique motorcyclist association specifically dedicated to representing the views of smart riders who choose to always ride smart. You will also receive a new-member packet of materials including an association patch with our logo and a resource booklet jam-packed with references and pertinent information. The fees for an individual membership established for 2010 are $25 for a term ending 1 year from date of activation or $65 for 3 years; two persons of the same household may join for $35 per year or $90 for 3 years. All memberships are due to be renewed before the expiration date to maintain uninterrupted membership status.

Organizational memberships are welcome. Nonprofit corporations, governmental units, traffic-safety associations or professional associations whose missions are compatible with SMARTER’s are eligible to apply for organizational membership. The SMARTER board will evaluate all organization applications. Organizational memberships are $100 per year, expire one year from the date of activation, and must be renewed before the expiration date to maintain membership status. Support from all individuals and from for-profit corporations whose principles are compatible with the mission of SMARTER is encouraged. Various levels of support are available. Please contact SMARTER by sending an e-mail message to info@smarter-usa.org to discuss with an officer your interest in a supporting membership.

The continued support of our charter and regular members is greatly appreciated, as is the support of each new member. Together, you are making a significant contribution toward ensuring the safety of your fellow motorcyclists!
